VI Congress of Russian Association of Anthropologists and Ethnologists

FIRST CIRCULAR

    Dear colleagues,
    We invite you to take part in the upcoming meetings of the Russian Association of Anthropologists and Ethnologists (RAAE) which will take place in St.-Petersburg, June 28 - July 2, 2005. The 6th Congress of Russian Association of Anthropologists and Ethnologists (Biannual Meeting) is organ-ized by RAAE together with Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera), Russian Academy of Sciences; Miklukho-Maclay Institute of Ethnology and An-thropology, Russian Academy of Sciences; St.-Petersburg State University and in collaboration with Russian Ethnographical Museum and European University in St.-Petersburg.
    The main theme of the Congress is "ETHNO-CULTURAL INTERACTION IN EURASIA". Other important subjects include new methods and approaches in anthropology. The new results of re-searches in physical, social, cultural, political, urban, visual anthropology would be presented as well as the discussion of problems of ethnographical museums in the modern world, data bases and expert systems creation, etc.
    The working language of the Congress is Russian, but the papers could be presented also in English.
    The information on visa support, conference fee, hotels and accommodation will be announced in early autumn 2004 as well as topics of Congress sessions and panels. Unfortunately we are unable to cover the participant's transportation, hotel and accommodation expenses.
